About the host

Kayla Olson studied musical theater at the University of North Texas before moving to Austin, TX to study Radio-TV-Film. Kayla interned for the hit PBS show, The Daytripper, co-created and starred in the award winning web series, Once You Leave for which she recieved a Best Actor award and several nominations. Besides filmmaking (God Made Man), she continues to act and work on a number of short films, commercials and in many other roles behind the scenes. Kayla was adopted in 1985 and in October of 2016, she found her paternal birth family. After this discovery whenever it would come up there was someone with their own adoption story. She knew from the start of this journey that she wanted to create something revolving around this life event and quickly decided on podcasting for this project. A place where she could not only tell her story, but also to hear the voice of others who have been through their own journey concerning adoption. Since then she has been creating the podcast Long Lost.
